In this section, we answer questions that our customers ask us particularly frequently. Can't find your question here? No problem – we are happy to provide you with comprehensive advice.

What sets Harald Liebers Behälter-Apparatebau GmbH in Chemnitz apart?

Liebers Apparate- und Behälterbau in Chemnitz is a long-established company from Saxony that draws on over two centuries of experience. As the successor to Germania GmbH (founded in 1811), we are specialized in the planning, design and manufacture of quality-tested products in apparatus and pressure vessel construction since our re-establishment in 1998. Flexible manufacturing processes, a high degree of fabrication, experienced employees with technical expertise, coupled with effective quality and schedule management are the cornerstones of our corporate philosophy and guarantee trust and satisfied customers.

We can produce any type of process engineering pressure vessels, apparatus, systems, heat exchangers or piping components for you and manufacture special designs and assemblies – thanks to modern technologies and high-performance engineering, Liebers Apparatebau always finds a customer-specific solution

Does the range of services offered by Liebers Apparatebau Chemnitz also include sheet metal working?

Yes, with our modern machinery, we are ideally equipped to manufacture a wide variety of products in the field of sheet metal working. Whether customised special designs, individual parts or standard designs – from bending, edging, pressing, straightening, welding and burning to laser cutting, we offer you all facets and solutions in the field of metalworking. Depending on the sheet thickness, bending length and material, we check every customer request against the specifications of our press. Our range of services includes, for example, the processing of sheet metal components, housings, complete assemblies, cut-to-size parts and cladding of all kinds. We carry out welding work in our workshop or on the component directly at your premises.

What are heat exchangers?

A heat exchanger (also known as a heat transfer device) enables the mutual exchange of thermal energy between two elements, which are cooled or heated by the heat exchange. In process engineering, they are used to heat, evaporate, cool and condense media, which can be liquid or gaseous. Tube bundle heat exchangers, plate heat exchangers or spiral heat exchangers are used as construction types.

How does a tube bundle heat exchanger work?

The functioning of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger is extremely effective: it consists of a hollow cylinder, inside which is the so-called tube bundle – a large number of small-diameter tubes. The tube bundle transports one medium, the cylinder the other medium. Heat exchange thus takes place indirectly through a tube wall, which makes mass transfer impossible.

What role does reactor construction play in the chemical industry?

A reactor is the core component of a chemical plant, where chemical reactions are carried out technically and under optimal conditions.

However, reactions involving hazardous chemicals can also pose high risks, which is why reactor construction is a great responsibility. In order to ensure the safety of personnel, the plant and the environment, reactors are manufactured according to strict quality criteria. During construction, all important influencing factors, such as the reaction mechanism and reaction conditions, the properties of the substances involved and the resulting cooling or heating requirements, must be taken into account.

Why should falling film evaporators be used for temperature-sensitive substances?

Falling film evaporation is a very gentle process in which, compared to other processes, only low temperatures are used during evaporation. In combination with the short residence time of the liquid inside the apparatus, a falling film evaporator therefore offers a significant advantage, especially for heat-sensitive substances.

What do I need to bear in mind as the operator of a pressure vessel?

According to the Industrial Safety Regulation, pressure vessels and pressure vessel systems must be inspected before commissioning and at regular intervals. Regular drainage of the vessel and inspection for leaks and damage are mandatory. In addition, since 2002 they have been subject to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) with a maximum permissible operating pressure of over 0.5 bar.

Furthermore, employees should be made aware of the dangers of handling pressure vessels in training courses and prepared for possible emergency situations. This also includes wearing safety equipment. Warning signs must also be used to prohibit unauthorised access.

Agitation vessels – what designs does Harald Liebers Behälterbau in Chemnitz offer?

The agitation vessels from Harald Liebers GmbH Chemnitz are of high quality and guarantee safe operation. They are manufactured in a wide variety of designs: with single, double or triple jackets, in cylindrical or conical shapes, with separate heating pipes or half-pipe coils, made of materials such as corrosion-resistant carbon steel, stainless steel, stainless steel or special materials. The standard units range from a few cubic metres to a size of approx. 100 cubic metres.

We implement customer-specific solutions that meet your specific application requirements. Depending on the area of application, our engineers adapt the volume and geometry of the mixing vessel to your needs. Contact us! We will find the optimal solution for your business.
